Royal Flycatcher
Onychorhynchus mexicanus

This striking species (the male's courtship display is beyond spectacular) is seldom-reported and perhaps on the decline in central Panama. Most recent records come from the Caribbean slope, most accessibly for Canopy Tower guests deep on Pipeline Road, although even those reports are few and far between. There is one remarkable recent report from Semaphore Hill (Field Guides Inc., 2005), but it remains uncertain without any substantiating details on record.
