This species is included on the Canopy Tower's birdist, although I am, as of this writing,
uncertain as to the details of this report. This wide-ranging species occupies a large swath
of Central America and northern South America, with an unusual gap (excepting a few sporadic records)
between western Panama and Colombia (no reports from the Darién!). Given the customary mid-to-high elevation
at which this species is found, the most likely areas seem to be Altos del Maria and Cerro Azul/Jefe. Any reports from the region
are noteworthy; if there is no documented contact between the northern and southern populations of this species one must begin to question
the taxonomy involved.
